Carry-on Luggage: Pros/Cons Pros: More space for packing Versatility for short or long trips Easily stow above you for the flight Cons: Limited overhead space may require you to check it Some airlines charge fees for your carryon (ie Frontier, Spirit) Cumbersome to get through security and the airport Personal Item Pros/Cons: Pros: Easy access underneath your seat Compact and smaller Cost savings as most airlines allow these for free Cons: Limited space for items Sizing is strict on some airlines and they may classify some as a “carryon” My hot take: for 2 days or longer, I definitely want a carryon!
