THE PARENTING EMPORIUM started in 2007 by two breastfeeding veterans as Medela Moms, an official distributor of Medela breast pumps. The house where the company was based in became known as The Medela House. Medela Moms not only provided Medela products but also offered support from lactation experts on breastfeeding. Medela Moms evolved to become a community of mothers, seeking advice and support from each other on breastfeeding and other concerns.
Medela Moms, like a true parent, gave birth to THE PARENTING EMPORIUM when it became apparent that parents were seeking products and education beyond breast pumps and breastfeeding. They were in need of a place to find items and classes that cater to all aspects of the parenting journey – from pregnancy to childbirth and the challenges of raising a healthy, dynamic young family.
