NYK FIL-JAPAN Shipping Corporation

It was in 1976 when Fil-Japan Shipping Corporation (FJSC) was incorporated. Acting as a shipping agent of Shofoku Steamship Co. Ltd., FJSC began commercial operations by handling breakbulk vessels operating between Tokyo and Manila with ports of call in Japan and Hongkong. By then, Fil-Japan became a joint venture partner of NYK Line Tokyo; thus, the company adopted the new name “NYK Fil-Japan Shipping Corporation”.

NYK Fil-Japan Shipping Corporation (NYK FJSC) is the flagship of the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG) was also established on 1976 as a joint venture between NYK Line (Japan) and TDG.

Being one of the largest international shipping lines in the country, NYK FJSC covers the major ports in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. It is engaged in different shipping services such as general shipping, ship chartering and brokerage, international breakbulk cargo handling, liner and tramp agency services and management information service provider.

For more than three decades, NYK FJSC has continued to expand and venture into niche markets especially in the Mindanao area, which is said to be the agricultural region of the country. Tapping onto higher yield markets such as refrigerated movements and leveraging on the satellite offices based in Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Cagayan De Oro, and Subic it has access to port services of sister companies engaged in forwarding, trucking, warehousing, brokerage and total logistics.
