Eastgate Publishing Corp.

Eastgate Publishing Corporation (EPC) was
organised by the late famous
publisher and columnist, Max Soliven and Mr. Jun Ventura to publish
PAL's Mabuhay magazine with its first issue in May 1988. Under Eastgate,
Mabuhay magazine already has won 21 awards of which five (5) are local
and 16 are international.
On top of being the former publisher of the magazine publication, Eastgate published in 2014 the pioneering coffee table book,
"The Best of the Best of the Philippines"
with the support of the Department of Tourism (DOT). This landmark book
is the first to present the country's award-winning and unique
destinations and has reaped both creative and commercial success. It has
won two (2) gold awards: The Anvil Gold Award for Public Relations Tool
and the PATA Gold Award for the
"Travel Journalism - Travel Guidebook" category.
It has received highly positive reviews with Tourism Secretary Ramon
Jimenez praising the book as "a truly significant achievement and it is a
book that achieves one thing that most books dream of. It is useful."
The book has become a bestseller with all copies sold out and a re-print
is on the way to cope with demand from popular outlets like Fully
Booked.
In 2015, Eastgate published innovative books - "My St. Luke's Story" which
chronicled patient experiences at globally-renowned St. Luke's Medical
Center, the "Philippines: Pop Up Wonders", which presented the country's
top travel destinations in a pop-up format. It also published the "First Philippine Travel Calendar 2015" showcasing the country's amazing destinations.
Eastgate released Philippine Airlines’ commemorative coffee table book, “75 Years of Celebrating The Heart of the Filipino”, in June 2016, as the flag carrier recently turned 75. Other projects include the Asia Pacific Retailers Convention and Exhibition coffee table book and Duty Free Philippines Corporation’s 5-year Accomplishment Report, a deep dive into the history and success of the one-stop shop for “Balikbayans” and tourists.
