Augustinian Abbey School, is a progressive private school, located in Governor Licaros cor Sekiat Sts. of BF Resort Village, Las Piñas City. It was founded by spouses, the late Fiscal Pacifico M. Lontok and retired Court of Appeals Justice Arcangelita R. Lontok in August 1996, initially providing education from Pre-school to the Grade 4 levels, subsequently to Grade 6, and eventually the Secondary level in 2000.
Attuned to the challenges of a global society, AAS has instituted the use of DynEd®, a research-based course providing the quickest way to develop effective communication skills in English. With daily practice, students develop:
• Pronunciation and Oral Fluency
• Listening and Reading Comprehension
• Sentence Structure and Effective Sequencing of Ideas
• Oral Presentation and Summarization skills
• Ability to express abstract ideas and relationships.
It is the first and only school in Las Piñas City to utilize this multi-awarded, internationally-recognized English learning tool which develops the English language skills necessary for success in schools and beyond. DynEd's (www.dyned.com) ESL/ELT/ELL technology-assisted courses and assessment tools allow students to learn English following a natural sequence of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
AAS is equipped for the full implementation of the K+12 curriculum, allowing graduates to gain middle to high level skills for tertiary education and ultimately, to provide them better opportunities to be gainfully employed or become entrepreneurs. Presently, the school has three buildings, the first, along the corner of Licaros and Sekiat Streets which is the home of the preschool department, the Computer and DynEd rooms, and where most of the administrative and finance offices are located. The second building, along the corners of Sekiat and Ozaeta Streets, houses the Grades 1-4 levels, the canteen, the Faculty and Discipline Offices, and a mini-bookstore. The steady increase in number of students over the past 5 years has prompted management to add a new wing with 11 spacious classrooms as well as an auditorium, and is currently dedicated to the Grades 5- 10 levels. For all athletic purposes, the school is equipped with a covered court.
